Devotionals Available Sunday

The To the Glory of God devotionals have arrived. Here's the special deal. Tenth ordered 350 copies and received a special price from the Alliance to sell them for $8.50 a piece, including the tax. You are not going to beat that deal. When we run out, later copies will be available in the bookstore for the regular 20% discount, leaving a price at around $13.

The books will be available in Reception Hall after each of the three services for the next three Sundays, unless we run out sooner. We can only take cash or checks. Sorry, we cannot ship them.

The devotionals are part of the 50/10 Committee's plans to honor the memory of Barnhouse and Boice. The devotional is a collection of readings from Dr. Boice's Commentary on Romans. There are forty selections that follow through his outline for the book. Besides the devotions, it includes Boice's introductory sermon and the four hymns he wrote with Paul Jones. (Need I mention that the selections were skillfully culled, subtedly edited to present Boice's core teaching?)

We are encouraging Tenth members to read through the devotions beginning in June (or you can start in May). Don't forget, this is the season of high school graduations. If you were thinking of a Christian book to give, this is it!

Memory Book Call

Dear Tenth family,

The church desires to give the Rykens and Cora Hogue Koop memory books to celebrate their time here with us. I will be assembling these books, and I need your pictures and personal messages! We hope that these books will communicate to the Rykens and Cora just how much their love, ministry, and friendship have meant to all of us. Please contribute if you are able. I need either or both of the following:

Sunday's Sermon

Yesterday's sermon, "God's Grand Old Gospel," is now available in manuscript and audio/video. Just click the link.

Someone asked where to find the Boice quote at the end of the sermon. It is taken from the Day 11 devotion of the new devotional, To the Glory of God. I've already posted about that below. The book should be available in the bookstore next Sunday. You can order from the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals directly, as well. That particular devotion came from Boice's sermon, "God's Love Commended" in volume two of his Romans commentary.
